The "modelling and simulation"-consortium concentrates their work on two basic topics:
(a) The development of alternative methods for modelling logistical systems which are more flexible than simulation but with similar accuracy.
(b) The development of production schedules and optimisation algorithms to ensure optimal operation of logistical systems.
