The field of Intellectual Property Law is wide, colourful, actual and highly important not only economically but also socio-politically. Thus, it does not amaze that more and more graduates of legal studies are interested in this field of law. Due to this interest and the fact that Intellectual Property Law is not recognised sufficiently in the academic education, Prof. Dr. Horst-Peter Götting founded the master programme "International Studies in Intellectual Property Law" - the first master programme in this area in Germany.

In the last ten years the programme has developed consistently and we cooperate with six partner universities throughout Europe and the USA. Besides the initial partners in Exeter, Strasbourg and Prague we today cooperate with the "Queen Mary Institute of Intellectual Property Research" in London, the "Institute for Intellectual Property Law" at the Jagiellonen University in Krakow and the "Center for Advanced Study and Research on Intellectual Property" at the University of Washington in Seattle.

We would like to thank our partners, our guest lectures and the GRUR for their support. Without their engagement we would not be able to offer such an international porgramme with such a highly practical orientation and individual tutoring. On the occasion of our ten year anniversary we wold like to invite all involved persons to our celebration on April 4th, 2009.
