The human genetic research at the Institute for Clinical Genetics is represented by five working groups.

These are:

• genetic outpatient department

• conventional and molecular Cytogenetics
• 
  
• molecular genetics and expression analysis
• 
  
• functional tumor genetics
• 
  
• molecular karyotyping and functional cancer genetics

The research of the institute are conducted in close cooperation and financially support by scientists from all over Germany, Europe and the USA as well as particularly by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
