Warning sent to 40.000 students by accident
On 10.12.2013 morning between 2 and 4 am, emails were sent to
students and employees of TU Dresden saying that their login is
about to be deactivated.
This error occurred as the daily synchronization failed between
the systems holding information on employees' and students'
data and the ZIH identity management system. The latter is used
for authorization against the TU information systems. The
problem had been identified in the morning and was fixed by
noon. An information about the mistake had been sent out to all
48.000 recipients by 3 pm.
