General entry requirements for the BA degree programme:

• general higher education entrance qualification (German Abitur or equivalent for international students);
• for international students: high level of proficiency in German demonstrated by the German Language Test for Higher Education / Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang (DSH) or an equivalent language qualification as well as proficiency in English equivalent to Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) level (will be tested during the second part of the selection process).

Entry requirements for the MA degree programme:

• a first degree (such as BA, Diplom or equivalent) in a relevant field of study/academic field;
• for international students: proof of high level of proficiency in German by the German Language Test for Higher Education (Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang (DSH)) or an equivalent language qualification as well as proficiency in English

Both degree programmes start at the beginning of the academic year in October (start of the winter semester). Application forms must be submitted in due form and time at the Matriculation Office (for German applicants) or the International Office (for international students).
