The Institutional Strategy of the TU Dresden "The Synergetic University" follows a central guideline that combines a wealth of individual projects into a targeted bundle of measures: performance is not created in a vacuum. People are always crucial. They bring things forward. And the better their working conditions are, the quicker and better they will achieve results. This is the central idea if the Dresden Institutional Strategy.

With its Institutional Strategy the TU Dresden seeks to tap the full potential of its unique profile: it has been a comprehensive university since 1993 with proven strengths in engineering and natural sciences, medicine and in humanities, social sciences and cultural studies. It is also the centre of the strong research alliance DRESDEN-concept. This constellation offers the best conditions for meeting the complex challenges of the 21st century, posing the right questions in cooperation between the various disciplines, and working out solution approaches in dialogue with academia, business and economy, culture and politics.
