[BA] Conception and Implementation of a Reference Architecture for Context-Adaptive Data-Aggregation
Devices associated with the Internet of Things are rapdily becoming ordinary in industry and public sector. Their shared communication and the storage of the thereby generated data is, however, problematic in its dimensions. Therefore methods of data filtering and data aggregation were introduced to reduce the data that has to be communicated. This leads to energy-savings for the involved sensors as well as a diminished amount of data that an application has to evaluate, which is especially critical in real-time monitoring applications. For this reason "Data Aggregation Modules" are introduced in this paper, which will combine state-of-the-art aggregation techniques with an exemplary deployment of the architecture concept in multiple devices. The use of dynamically adjustable aggregation techniques is a novelty in this approach. To further visualise the results the implementation will be simulated in a graphic monitoring solution. Focus of work • Research and evaluation of data aggregation techniques for the proposed DAM prototype • Implementation of at least three aggregation techniques • Comparison of the implemented techniques for example in light of quality, latency, use in device-heterogeneous environment • Visualisation of the results in form of a monitoring system (i.e. with Grafana)
