[MA] Employment of the Tooz Data Glasses in Context-Sensitive Industrial Manufacturing Applications
Background: the advent of the data glasses www.tooz.com has the potential of changing several application areas, for instance, in digital health or industrial applications. The group of software engineering has developed an application framework for the tooz that supports location-aware data can be displayed and, if location changes, changed.
Problem: in industrial applications, the automated update about the status of machines and the production process is a major problem. The tooz glasses is perfectly able to show in the sight of the worker machine data, process status data, tests, graphs, and also in a context- and location-oriented way.
This work should investigate and identify the design and implementation of a context-sensitive application of the tooz in industrial settings, in particular, in carpenter workshops (Tischlereien). In a carpenter workshop, showing information about machines or processes is very important to enable the worker to keep her hands free. The projected information should be location-, person-, and context-dependent.
The following items are possible tasks:
1. To reach the objective, a requirements analysis shall be conducted with a carpenter workshop. To this end, interviews shall be conducted and extracted into a requirements specification.
2. Also, an extensive literature review should be independently provided by the thesis author regarding the use of AR in industrial applications.
3. A proof-of-concept application should be realized, both in design, implementation. documentation, and test. The new app shall be investigated with regard to its usability in one or two case studies.
4. Finally, some evaluation criteria need to be defined by the thesis author and the use of the app shall be evaluated.
