Christian John is Research Associate and part of the Unit for Innovation & Entrepreneurship in the WISSENSARCHITEKTUR Laboratory of Knowledge Architecture and Team member of the EU funded lighthouse project TRAILS – Traveling Innovation Labs and Services. Based on this he conducts research of entrepreneurial learning in rural areas. Before joining the WISSENSARCHITEKTUR he finished an apprenticeship as a qualified banker and then studied at Friedrich Schiller University Jena including an exchange semester at University of Hull, United Kingdom. After finishing his Bachelors he joined Dresden University of Technology and graduated with a Master of Science in Business Administration majoring in corporate development and entrepreneurship and a thesis in entrepreneurship education systems. During his studies he more and more dived into all subjects about entrepreneurship. In 2013 he was the initiator of the first student entrepreneurs club in Dresden, called GründerGarten ("Founders Garden") which helps students focusing on their own ideas and become entrepreneurs through the big local network of the club. In 2015 he started his practical career and joined a German startup investor in investment management for startups. In 2016 he moved to Berlin and joined a major startup from Silicon Valley where he was responsible for the business development of the german market. After two years of intense experience in Sales, Marketing and Business Development he came back to Dresden to follow the TRAILS project and his passion in educating young people how to start and accelerate their own ideas.
