"Towards the Digital Urban Era" - Exhibition until May 8th 2022

The joint seminar “Towards the Digital Urban Era” aims to utilize the educational platforms of the four internationally renowned universities to enable students to gain in-depth knowledge of the various facets of the Digital Urban Era across cultural and socio-economic boundaries. The seminar "Towards the Digital Urban Era" is coordinated by the TUD and conducted with the

participation of Kyushu University (Japan), Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Norway) and Zhejiang University (China). In the winter semester 2021/2022, a total of 82 students from 14 countries from the four partner universities participated in the joint seminar. The seminar is supported by the funding programme Internationalisation of TU Dresden within the framework of the Excellence Strategy of the Federal Government and the States for one year (WS2021/22 & SS2022).

The seminar is conducted in a virtual learning environment that enables timely interaction between teachers and students across university boundaries and overcomes the time and space constraints for collaborative teaching and learning on the Asian and European continents. Taking advantage of the virtual education technologies, students learn in an international working environment, which broaden their scientific view to a global perspective and strengthen their personal ability for international collaborative working.

The joint seminar has a two-stage structure and is conducted in two phases in the WS2021/22: In the "Fermentation and Incubation" phase, the students acquired topic-related knowledge in 16 lectures given by scientists from various disciplines and experts from different fields. In the "Develop by Doing" phase, participants formed 4 cross-university working groups and collected 1047 questionnaires with ordinary citizens and interviewed 20 experts.
