Scan campaign in Panama
In cooperation with the German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv, https://www.idiv.de/) we succesfully scanned the entire Sardanilla tree diversity experiment (http://www.treedivnet.ugent.be/ExpSardinilla.html) in Panama. We used a state-of-the-start terrestrial laser scanner from Riegl. The resulting high-resolution three-dimensional point clouds allow to extract accurate tree models. From those models the tree wood volumes and crown structures can be analysed. Currently the data is processed at our professorship.
