- The evaluation of soil-hydraulic characteristics and of methods for the parametrisation of varied scale soil models
- The evaluation of the output information of hydrological model parameters in relation to the respective model structure and the available input data.
- The development of approaches for a scaling up / down transformation of soil-hydraulic parameters
- The development of process oriented approaches for the reality-based calculation of an area's water balance under changed climate boundary conditions.
- The development of "on farm" hydrological approaches and water management methods for semi arid regions
- The use of process oriented methods for irrigation control
- Flood forecasting in fast responding catchment areas
