The TUD Dresden University of Technology has currently published several calls for applications for scientific prizes, which are intended in particular to honor young researchers and outstanding theses. Transport researchers can apply for various awards.

Reichart Prize 2026

The Reichart Prize is awarded to graduation theses from all scientific disciplines that have a clear practical relevance. The prize is endowed with €2,000. Applications are possible until March 15, 2026. Further information on the Reichart Prize

Sponsorship award from the BOYSEN Foundation

The Friedrich and Elisabeth BOYSEN Foundation and the TUD Dresden University of Technology award the Friedrich and Elisabeth BOYSEN Foundation Sponsorship Prize in recognition of particularly outstanding dissertations by young scientists in the field of environmental technology with a focus on engineering solutions to reduce pollutants, noise and energy consumption. Commerzbank Prizes 2026

The Commerzbank Prizes recognize outstanding dissertations by young researchers at TU Dresden. The prerequisite for submission is a dissertation graded "summa cum laude", ideally with a high degree of innovation and social relevance. The prize money amounts to €1,000. The Industrieclub Sachsen e.V. honors annually with the Innovation Award of the
Industrieclub Sachsen's Innovation Award to outstanding dissertations by early-career researchers from all departments at TU Dresden that stand out due to the particular practical relevance of their innovative content. The TUD Dresden University of Technology (TUD) and the Verein zur Förderung von Studierenden der TUD Dresden University of Technology e.V. annually honor three outstanding scientific papers by TUD students by awarding them the Georg-Helm-Prize. The theses should have been completed and successfully defended in the period from July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026. Proposals for the award must be submitted by Friday, July 31, 2026.
