Yihui Wang appointed Professor of Public Transport

The Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences welcomes Prof. Dr. Yiuhui Wang as Head of the newly created Chair of Public Transport as of 1 February 2026. With the new appointment of Prof. Dr. Yihui Wang, the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences has gained an internationally renowned expert in innovative and sustainable rail systems.

Prof. Wang has worked at TU Delft and Beijing Jiaotong University during her academic career and has built up an internationally visible research profile. Her work combines model predictive control, optimization techniques and artificial intelligence methods with railroad operation issues. With numerous scientific publications, she is one of the influential voices in the field of intelligent and energy-efficient railroad systems.

Prof. Wang was already a Dresden Senior Fellow for a research stay at the Chair of Railway Operations in 2024. With her appointment, the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences is strengthening its profile in a targeted manner in public transport and the digital transformation of rail transport. We are delighted to welcome Prof. Dr. Yihui Wang to our faculty on a permanent basis and to shape the future of sustainable mobility together.
