The Chair is part of the "Friedrich List" Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences and the Faculty of Business and Economics (second membership). It is affiliated to the Institute of Transport and Economics. For the economic courses of study, the special field "Communication Economics" is being offered as special Business Management.

Based on the market models of the Internet economy as well as the special features of network industries, information and communication service companies are just as much a part of this subject as their behaviour in the ICT markets (positioning strategies, strategic marketing, cooperation and merger strategies, etc.).
