A next generation technology for the Saxon energy sector
The TU Dresden launched an interdisciplinary junior research group "Biogenic Hydrogen" by the first of august 2012. The researches aim at developing an innovative technology for the synthesis of hydrogen using bacteria and alga. The project is funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) with 1,7 mio. Euro. So far, the engineering research for technology development in this area is unique. The research group are one project manager, seven junior researchers and a technical assistant. The following chairs participate in the junior research group: Faculty of Mechanical Engineering: Chairs of Bioprocess Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Plant Design, Hydrogen and Nuclear Energy, Materials Science and Nanotechnology, Faculty of Economics: Chair of Environmental Management and Accounting and Faculty of Science: Chair of Physical Chemistry, Process Measuring and Sensor Technology.
