Objectives & Content |
The course starts off with an introduction to focal concepts and frameworks related to (1) business models in general, (2) big-data characteristics, and (3) data-driven business models/services in particular. On this basis, students analyze the business model of a real-life company, with a particular focus on data-driven services (to be) offered by this company. The analysis process is facilitated by online feedback sessions. A student who has successfully completed this course will be able to apply a structured, concept-/framework-driven approach to analyzing the basic logic and potential of real-world instances of data-driven business models. | |
Forms of Teaching & Learning |
Block seminar (3 class sessions) and self-study. The language of the course is English. Course grades are determined on the basis of an oral presentation/discussion of the analysis results (40%) and a written seminar paper (60%). The course yields 5 ECTS |
