Objectives & Content |
Traditional and more recent approaches explaining international trade flows, their characteristics and distribution and welfare effects as well as various market structures and relevant instruments of international trade policy will be examined. The students are familiar with basic models of modern foreign trade theory. The models enable them to explain international trade patterns and the welfare and distribution effects of international trade. In addition, they are able to analyse the impact of important trade policy instruments such as tariffs and import quotas. Literature: Requirements: |

Forms of Teaching & Learning |
The course is organised in a two-tier structure with 3 h lecture plus 1 h exercise class. The entire course will be taught in English. The course yields 5 ECTS credits. The grade awarded for the course equals the grade achieved for the written exam (90 min). |
