The elective area starts in the 4th semester and offers excellent opportunities for in-depth and specialized study. You can choose from modules in the fields Business Administration, Economics, and/or Supplement almost at will. The only restriction is that of the 70 credit points of the elective area,
- at least 50 credit points must be from the fields Business Administration and/or Economics!
Within the fields, several specializations are at your disposal. Find out about the available modules and specializations and how to choose them here: Elective Area: Details.
Studying electives is possible only if you have passed the central compulsory modules of the first two semesters. See the German version of this page for their list!

Typically, the program ends with the Bachelor's Thesis. With that thesis, you demonstrate your skills in presenting and analyzing an economic problem in a scientific manner. The Bachelor Thesis takes four months and earns 10 credit points.
To start with the Bachelor's Thesis, you must have acquired at least 130 credit points. Also, you must begin no later than the semester after passing the last exam.
The Chairs of the Faculty have different regulations on topic assignment, registration and (formal) requirements for the thesis. Please inform yourself here at the Chair of your choice!
To be ready for the thesis, you must pass a Bachelor's Seminar. That seminar refreshes and deepens your knowledge of scientific methods and working techniques.
