Short abstract: Research of the past two decades has revealed that the vascular and the central nervous systems (CNS) share many regulatory cellular molecular principles. Although it is clear that both systems regulate each other during development, homeostasis and disease, the molecular mechanisms of those cross-talks remain poorly characterize. Here, I will summary the work performed and undergoing in my group to understand how the neural compartment regulates vascular growth and patterning during CNS development, and viceversa, how we found that the vasculature is also an active player in neurodevelopment.
