European Social Fund (2014 - 2020)

The European Social Fund (ESF) is one of five European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIFs). The funding priorities of the ESF are education, vocational education and training, sustainable employment of high quality as well as social inclusion and combating poverty and discrimination. From 2014 until 2020,
Saxony will receive approximately 663 million Euros. The funding is based on the “Operational Programme of the Free State of Saxony for the European Social Fund (ESF) in the funding period 2014-2020”.
For universities, the Directive of the Saxon State Ministry for Higher Education, Research and the Arts (SMWK) concerning Higher Education and Research as well as the Directive of the Saxon State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Labour and Transport (SMWA) concerning Technology Funding are of particular interest.
