International Cooperation between South East Asia and Europe: SEA EU Joint Call 2018 published
In ordert o support bi- regional research cooperations between South East Asia and Europe, the Joined Funding Scheme for South East Asia and Europe was implemented. Existing and new collaborations between South East Asia and Europe should be strengthened with this Joint Funding Scheme, leading to the integration of the European Research Area and contributing to its international dimension.
The 2nd SEA-EU Joint Call in the thematic areas Bioeconomy and Infetcious Disease was published on 18th June 2018 with a deadline until 18th Sptember 2018. In sum, 14 countries and 16 funding agencies take part in this Call, the list together with more information can be found here.
The national funding agency in Germany (BMBF) provides funding of max. 100000 € for the duration of a maximum of three years (36 months). The multilateral research projects should have at least three partners with at least one partner coming from South East Asia. The proposals have to cover the thematic areas of Bioeconomy or Infectious Diseases to enhance bi-regional co-operation and develop new partnerships as well as strengthen existing ones. Furthermore, the projects should have a high practical relevance and demonstrate how the results will be implemented in politics, society and economy.
The application process has two stages. The pre-proposals have to be uploaded by the Principle Project Coordinator of the consortia electronically in the PT outline tool until the deadline on 18th September, 12:00 CETThe pre-proposals have to be submitted in English. The Joint Call Secretary will evaluate the proposals until the beginning of 2019. The projects could start earliest in April 2019.
