“Ever since I started my studies in TU Dresden I felt deeply in love with the University and people who are working and doing their research here. Everyone who needs support or advice always can get it. I also received help and support when I needed it. Being a part of the team of the Graduate Academy means to get a chance to pay back for that. Moreover, I want to be an active, fully-functioning part of the community of the most intelligent and educated people from all around the world. I want to meet and get to know as many members of this beautiful community as possible. Being a part of the DDocs means for me to be able to be grateful to our Alma Mater and contribute to its positive image on the international academic arena.”

“ I believe that doctoral council is an exceptional platform where PhD candidates can interact not only with the members of their own field but across different fields. Networking, in my experience, is very useful as doctoral candidates have to mostly work independently, in which they try to solve the inevitable challenges of PhD journey on their own. But, interacting with other fellow candidates and opening up the communication flow provides an opportunity to come-up with unique solutions to our challenges and as well as to more interesting ideas. It also creates a sense of closed-bounded community. Therefore, using this platform of DDocs, I would like to focus to upsurge the networking opportunities between and within the international and local PhD candidates."
Lara Maliske
Institute of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy

"I just started my PhD in January and despite being a TUD for the past two and a half and years, I still struggled with registrations and matriculation, etc. and would honestly love to address these issues so the process is smoother for the next students that come in. Lastly, being Indian and in a field like Civil engineering which is dominated by men, I have had to face sexism and racism quite often and understand the need for strong empowered women, empowering women. If you guys think I would fit in well and bring something unique to the table, I would love to be a part of the student council"
Felix Schilk
Institut of Sociology
Maren Weissig
Faculty of Architectur
Hendrik Malte Wenk
Hannah-Arendt Institut für Totalitarismusforschung
“Since my first academic year I am a part of the TU in the beautiful city of Dresden. However, there have been problems too in all this years. How to orientate myself at the university? How to switch smoothly to the Master's degree? And - not so long ago! - how to fund my dissertation? For me it has always been helpful to have a network as a starting point for questions and problems. In this way I see the DDocs: A group everyone can join to discuss PhD worries and to find solutions for them together.”
