“Ever since I started my studies in TU Dresden I felt deeply in love with the University and people who are working and doing their research here. Everyone who needs support or advice always can get it. I also received help and support when I needed it. Being a part of the team of the Graduate Academy means to get a chance to pay back for that. Moreover, I want to be an active, fully-functioning part of the community of the most intelligent and educated people from all around the world. I want to meet and get to know as many members of this beautiful community as possible. Being a part of the DDocs means for me to be able to be grateful to our Alma Mater and contribute to its positive image on the international academic arena.”

„I would like to continue to contribute my ideas and strengths to the doctoral council and use my experience to help other doctoral students on their way. Because we are living in a world in which development, research, cooperation and a friendly open togetherness are indispensable. As a member of the Graduate Academy, I was openly and warmly received at the numerous workshops that strengthened my doctorate in my research project. I would like to integrate myself to share this experience and motivate other to go ahead for their ideas and projects.“

Faculty of Environmental Science
„The last period as speaker of the PhD council was a very nice experience and I would like to continue working with different PhDs, other groups at the university and the Senate. Due to the work within the PhD council I could broaden my mind and I would like to keep going. „
Ianina Scheuch
Faculty of Business and Economics
"For me, the PhD Council constitutes a perfect contact point for TUD graduates
from different backgrounds to jointly address and master doctoral challenges.
As a member of the PhD Council, I want to share my sound international
experiences with other PhD students and particularly address a lived culture of
equality and inclusion as a crucial topic in today’s scientific society. It is my
desire to advance the networking among resident and non-resident PhD
students as well as interdisciplinary in research and practice."

"I just started my PhD in January and despite being a TUD for the past two and a half and years, I still struggled with registrations and matriculation, etc. and would honestly love to address these issues so the process is smoother for the next students that come in. Lastly, being Indian and in a field like Civil engineering which is dominated by men, I have had to face sexism and racism quite often and understand the need for strong empowered women, empowering women. If you guys think I would fit in well and bring something unique to the table, I would love to be a part of the student council"
