Do you sometimes feel it is hard to start or continue reading? Maybe this is not due to a lack of motivation but due to a lack of technique? This workshop focuses on the process of reading, including the steps: preparation & motivation, the phase of reading itself and the useful treatment of information. The course aims to provide participants with different techniques and strategies of reading (scanning, quick overview, profound reading, PQ4R, SQR, CORI, etc.) and with a set of methods to organize and extract the relevant information of the different texts they read. Further topics of this course are the understanding and handling of upcoming difficulties during the process of reading as well as the organization of the reading process and the surrounding conditions. The workshop encourages an active participation through the possibility to try out a vast set of reading methods and strategies of information treatment. Please bring along: laptop, pen and paper, 10 different literature sources, texts and articles (chapters of books you read, papers, etc.) With your registration you are required to accept the terms and conditions for participation. |
