The EU Framework Program for Research and Innovation "Horizon 2020" provides a variety of funding opportunities to support and encourage research in the European Research Area. Horizon 2020 consists of three main program pillars with two of them having collaborative projects as primary instrument, i.e. a consortium of at least three partners from three different EU Member States and/or Associated States work together. The aim of this course is to understand the collaborative aspects of Horizon 2020 and to train researchers in setting up competitive proposals for collaborative EU-funded research projects. The course describes the relevance of Horizon 2020 to EU policies, common problems but also criteria for being successful. Further, different aspects to prepare and submit a proposal will be presented and practical tips given how to be best prepared for the actual proposal writing, as well as how to set up a strong consortium. Besides some exercises, examples and best practices will be given and several aspects discussed in an interactive way. |
