Scientific writing requires clear structuring, specific grammatical, and sound stylistic knowledge. English scientific writing of any kind needs to consider specific cultural aspects as well. Participants asked to submit 2 to 4 pages of a paper or comparable writing in English four weeks prior to the workshop (Deadline: 09.11.2019 / Send to Kaufmann@2re-act.de). Please note: this is required for being admitted to the workshop! Students who have never written anything in English are welcome to participate as well. They are asked to notify the instructor beforehand though. An error analysis by the coach will help discovering individual mistakes, which will then be improved by the participants in interactive group work sessions. Based on participants’ papers, issues such as face saving concepts, cutting and combing techniques, avoiding redundancies, SPO, tenses, comma rules, active/ passive voice will be scrutinized (initial session). Supported by the coach, participants will moreover advance different sections of their papers such as the abstract, introduction and conclusion (subsequent session). Participants are asked to bring along their laptops. |
With your registration you are required to accept the terms and conditions for participation. |
