Series of events during winter semester 2017/18

Racial motivated attacks have increased in Dresden during the last years. Also students and staff of TU Dresden have been involved - even on the campus.  Racism impacts all of us - but what to do? The events of  "Courage - knowing, seeing, doing!" try to give answers.

...Workshops: What can I do if I was a victim or a witness of a racial motivated attack?  What am I allowed to do? How answering eloquently against xenophobic phrases?  How to deal with racism as an affected person? The workshops inform about answers and give advice.

...lectures: What is racism? Under which circumstances does it arise? What can a university do against racism?  The lectures of prominent experts help to understand and to identify racism.

...Accompanying programme: Many events in cooperation with Dresden's culture and education institutions invite to change the own point of view.

...Consultation for citizens: Teaching staff of TU Dresden answers questions of citizens concerning racism and discrimination.

The project - with workshops, lectures and accompanying programme - helps to sensitise students, lecturers and staff of TU Dresden for dealing with discrimination, marginalization and racism and takes places between October and December 2017  – in close cooperation with "We Care" as well as the Centre for Continuing Education of TU Dresden. The project is financed by the Saxon State Ministry for Arts and Science 2017.
