Current Surveys

The shutdowns due to the COVID 19 pandemic are also having an immense impact on schools, the extent of which cannot yet be estimated. As staff members of the extension subject DaZ at the TU Dresden, we are interested in how you as teachers experienced this exceptional situation. In the following, we have therefore collected some questions on the topics I as a teacher, My students and Our interactions and ask you to share your experiences with us.
We would like to increase our knowledge base on language and language learning under these conditions. Due to the changes in the school environment, we face many questions regarding the language acquisition of the students. What opportunities were there for language and communication? What is observable in language development? What additional means were used for learning and what role did peers play?
Our assumption is that the period of school closures during the pandemic leads to limited access to language and learning opportunities for German as a second language: Does no school mean no language? Through our project [digiDaZ:Pro], we have the opportunity to take a closer look at this.
In order to better understand what the accesses to language and opportunities for language acquisition are in the times of school closures and how these are shaped by you, we need your perspective and experiences.
To minimize the burden on you, we have chosen to use an oral format in the form of an audio file. Using a recording tool of your choice, you can easily and quickly share your thoughts with us and send this recording file to us at the email address digidazpro@tu-dresden.de. There is no guideline for the length of the recording.
At the bottom of the page, you will find some questions related to the themes of Me as a Teacher, My Student:s, and Our Interactions that you can use to guide your report. Please review the questions and bullet points before starting your recording. However, we welcome any other comments or thoughts you may have.
For a better classification of your person and situation, we would appreciate it if you would briefly introduce yourself at the beginning of the audio recording, name your school and briefly explain your living situation during the pandemic. The personal data provided will be used exclusively in anonymized form for scientific purposes. No data will be transmitted to third parties. The provision of all data is voluntary.
