Hybrid teaching
Our offer primarily includes advice on the didactic organization of hybrid teaching formats, but we can also offer you instructions and recommendations for technical implementation.
At the beginning there are some preliminary considerations to be made, e.g.:
- Which type of event, type of course should be implemented in hybrid form? Is it an input- or output-based course format?
- Which room and which technology are available to you?
- How big is your course group and how are the participants divided between digital and real presence?
- Are there enough attendance places? How can you deal with limited space when you need more? Should there be binding decisions regarding the possibility of participation or can options such as a weekly change be agreed with the course concept?
- Which technology do the course participants need: on site and / or at home and what needs to be considered for the first appointment? Do all those involved have direct contact options?

Digital teaching
We advise you on the planning and implementation of your virtual courses!
Would you like to hold your course in a digital format and would like to find out more about implementation options? Do you want to record your digital course and have questions? Are you unsure who is the right contact person at TUD for your concerns? We like to help you! Our range of advice and support includes the following topics:
- Video conferences and digital conference tools: Questions about configuration and operation in teaching and other digital meetings in the university context
- Questions about the recording, editing and provision of course videos
- Audience response systems in teaching: tools and their operation as well as their media didactic use
Digital exams
Teaching takes place almost entirely in presence again. Written examinations, on the other hand, are still appropriate for digital realization, and so a certain part of the exams will again be carried out in OPAL Exam@TUD platform.
We, the Team of Digital Teaching GSW, transfer your assessments to the corresponding exam platform and we are also available for any questions regarding the concept development and implementation of exams in OPAL Exam@TUD platform. We always work closely together with the ZiLL and the e-learning support.
Please note: This is the registration for our support service and *does not* replace the traditional exam registration at your exam office!
Sincerely yours, the Team of Digital Teaching GSW

Information offers on digital teaching
DiLiNews - Career Service Newsletter all about digital skills
"DiLiNews" stands for Digital Literacy News and is an e-learning module originally planned as a newsletter for the TUD Career Service. In 6 learning units so far, digital key competencies are imparted, tools are presented and further links and tips on events at TUD are presented.
Zentrum für interdisziplinäres Lernen und Lehren (ZiLL)
The Center for Interdisciplinary Learning and Teaching (ZiLL) is the first point of contact for students and teachers for practice and research-oriented learning and teaching at the TU Dresden. It was founded in 2014 as part of the Excellence Initiative as part of the future concept “The Synergetic University”.
The ZiLL deals with various questions of interdisciplinary learning with research or practical relevance. The so-called FLiK modules are also coordinated here. Very extensive and structured materials for eLearning are summarized here.
Just like the ZiLL pages, there is a very extensive range of information, with a growing number of best-practice examples.
Recommendations for action during the Corona crisis
During the suspended presence (!) Teaching due to the corona crisis in the 2020 summer semester, all teachers and students "across the board" found themselves in the position of having to familiarize themselves with the subject of eLearning within a very short time. At the same time, this was a catalyst to bring together a wide variety of experiences in digital teaching across the university. Pragmatic approaches are summarized here and updated regularly. Here you will also find many tutorials and best practice examples for a wide variety of scenarios.
These are official, security-relevant recommendations for action when returning from the home office.
If you have used private end devices while working in the home office, it is imperative to observe the following simple instructions:
- Inform your responsible administrator if you have used private end devices such as your own PC / notebook, smartphone or tablet in the home office.
- Change the password of your ZIH user account in the Self Service Portal immediately
- Please use the option to set and use a separate (service) password for WLAN.
- Delete the stored data in the web browser (cache) on your private device (see e.g. here https://www.heise.de/tipps-tricks/thema/Cache/).
- Save your work data on your work computer and then immediately delete all work data from your private device that you used in the home office.
- Remove (uninstall) software from your private device that you installed specifically for work in the home office. This applies in particular to software products that are only licensed for business use at the TU Dresden.
If you have taken business documents with you to the home office:
- Take all business documents (e.g. files, printouts, data carriers containing business information, etc.) with you back to the office.
- Dispose of documents that are no longer required (e.g. files, printouts, data carriers containing business information, etc.) exclusively using the data protection-compliant disposal container of the TU Dresden.
If you have any questions about data protection or information security in this context, please do not hesitate to contact us at informationssicherheit@tu-dresden.de!
