Abgesang am Weberplatz - staff and emeriti bid farewell to their long-standing location

Dresden, November 26, 2025 - On November 26, 2025, employees and emeriti of the Faculty of Education bid farewell to their long-standing location at Weberplatz with an emotional farewell. In a mixture of melancholy and gratitude, those present looked back on decades of academic work, pedagogical innovation and countless shared memories.

During the highly symbolic "farewell at Weberplatz", former and active members of the university came together to pay tribute to the special character of the location. Speeches recalled formative research projects, committed student groups and the lively campus life that has shaped Weberplatz for many years.

The event provided space for personal stories, shared retrospectives and discussions about the future of the faculty in new locations. Many of those present emphasized that although Weberplatz was physically leaving, its significance for the faculty's identity would remain.

The farewell ended with a joint walk across the grounds - a final tour that was symbolic for many: a step back, combined with a step forward.
