Welcome to the Institute of Social Pedagogy, Social Work and Welfare Sciences
The Institute of Social Education, Social Work and Welfare Sciences was founded in 1992 as part of the Faculty of Education and is currently divided into three professorships. The Institute is responsible for two degree programs.
Profile of the Institute and Staff
Originally, the Institute consisted of three Chairs and one Lectureship. It is currently divided into three Chairs:
- Chair of Counseling and Social Relations (Chair holder Prof. Dr. Cornelia Wustmann)
- Chair of Social Pedagogy (Chair holder Prof. Dr. Karin Bock)
- Chair of Social Pedagogy/Prevention and Health Care (Chair holder Prof. Dr. Andreas Hanses)
The Chairs' denominations illustrate a large part of the thematic focuses, and the topics addressed by the Institute's staff are characterized by a great diversity even beyond that. This diversity is also reflected in the research projects conducted at the Institute as well as in the academic publications of the individual members of staff.
