The target groups
The direct route to later employment as a vocational school teacher is the university degree program in teaching at vocational schools. This concludes with the first state examination, which in turn requires vocational training or at least one year's work in the chosen first subject area.
But not all paths are direct paths. This is why additional study options have been and are being developed, especially for the industrial-technical teaching profession, which allow alternative paths depending on the personal life situation:
LA BBS - Teacher training for vocational schools
- The teaching degree for vocational schools is interesting for students with or without a vocational qualification who wish to work as a teacher in a vocational school. This undergraduate program gives you the opportunity to deepen your enthusiasm for technology in a subject area of your choice, to acquire the know-how for the didactic know how and also to study a second subject according to your interests.
KAtLA - cooperative education in the technical teaching profession
- KAtLA is particularly interesting for students in the course of study for a teaching degree at vocational schools without vocational training or with little practical experience.
OptLA - Option technical teaching profession
- OptLA is of particular interest to those with industrial-technical training or work experience who wish to gain engineering and pedagogical qualifications close to home. Building on this, it is possible to enter the civil service as a teacher at vocational schools.
SchulAQ - School assistance in qualification
- SchulAQ is interesting for vocationally qualified persons with an advanced qualification, such as a technician's or master's degree, who want to take another step in their professional career and switch from the company to the vocational school.
