This is the second socio-cultural educational trip to Vietnam organized with the help of TUDresden Vietnamese colleagues. It is a combination of visits to cultural and historic areas, visiting a university campus and lecture and meeting fellow students, visiting the DAAD,Chamber of Commerce and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ)and also having enough free time to relax, shop and do your own thing. Full of colour,exotic and full of contrasts between old, French colonial and new, communist and capitalist,Vietnam is a country of great natural beauty with an incredible history and heritage. Anoutgoing people that believe in working hard during the day and going out during thenight. Excellent atmosphere, cuisine, music, drinks etc.
A first trip to Vietnam must include the greatest hits. Here we plan to visit Ho Chi Minh City(aka Saigon), the Mekong Delta, Cu Chi Tunnels, Danang, Hoi An - a classic UNESCO
protected Vietnamese town and nearby beach area, Hue: the ancient capital of Vietnam withits historic imperial fortress and centre plus the new capital, Hanoi, up in the north. Thenorthern part also contains the UNESCO protected Halong Bay and famous undergroundcave system. We will have an evening program or activity each evening at a café, localrestaurant, music venue etc, to give participants the opportunity to meet local students andpeople.
All travel and accommodation is air-conditioned and we will have an English-speaking guideon a daily basis. (Please note the trip will be in English only and is designed to improvecommunication and oral skills in English). The cost is approximately 1650 to 1700 euro for the16 day trip. Any money left over will be returned to participants.

Morning: Train to Frankfurt a. M
Meet up at Frankfurt a. M - Flughafen
Overnight flight from Frankfurt a. M to Saigon (Stop in Doha)

March 17
Meet coach at Ho Chi Minh Airport
Transfer to hotel
Final Programme orientation in the hotel lobby
Evening meal in local Vietnamese restaurant
Visit to Nightlife area

March 18
Day Tour of historical and cultural sights of HCMC Centre
Evening Programm: Night Market

March 19
Visit to Mekong Delta Area (one of the most important and
interesting waterways in southern Asia) and famous Vinh Trang
Pagoda (concerning dress code-avoid short shirt)  
Lunch on route  
Traditonal boat and canoe trip on Mekong Delta and visit to local islands 

March 20
Free Time, Vietnams Traffic, City Market, Ho Chi Minh City Tower, Zoo, Karaoke etc.
Evening Programme at Opera House Saigon

March 21
Visiting the Ho Chi Minh University of Technology and
Education - Casual conservative dress
Lunch on Campus  
Evening sleeper to train to Da Nang (in Central Vietnam)  
Afterwards with Bus to Hoi An Village
