Globalisation and national protectionism, trade wars, financial crises and currency turbulencies - only some of the current challenges for internationally active entreprises.
Still, the number of entreprises, which feel the strategic necessity to internationalise their activities is growing. Faced with this turbulent environment and the special problems of international business activities, many international involvements fail. Spectacular cases such as Wal-Mart in Germany or the merger Daimler Chrysler are impressive examples for that.
To lead an international entreprise succesfully requires not only classical business management skills, but also knowledge on the pecularities of international business activities: knowledge on foreign markets, language skills and intercultural competencies gain importance.
The master's programme International Management prepares students right for these tasks.
Due to our special location on the border triangle of Germany, Poland and Czechia, our emphasis lies on the activities of Western European entreprises in Middle and Eastern Europe (and vice versa).
Besides of the theory of intercultural communication, foreign language skills in English, Polish and Czech are part of the schedule. But also current developments such as the growing importance of the BRICS-states (Brasilia, Russia, India, China, South Africa) or global and regional tendencies of integration and disintegration are looked at closely...
The duration of the programme is four semesters.
