Bio
Seit Juli 2021 ist Giang T. Nguyen Juniorprofessor und leitet die Juniorprofessur für haptische Kommunikationssysteme, Cluster of Excellence CeTI (Center for Tactile Internet with Human-in-the-Loop) an der TU Dresden. Seine Forschung konzentriert sich auf niedrige Latenzzeiten, Flexibilität und Widerstandsfähigkeit vernetzter Systeme, um haptische Kommunikation zu ermöglichen.
Ich interessiere mich dafür, vernetzte Systeme schnell, flexibel und widerstandsfähig zu machen. Ziel ist es, die gleichzeitige Kommunikation mehrerer Modalitäten wie Audio, Video und insbesondere Haptik zu ermöglichen. Ihre Anforderungen sind sehr unterschiedlich, was Bandbreite, Latenz und Zuverlässigkeit angeht. Da das derzeitige Internet nur Best-Effort-Dienste anbieten kann, arbeite ich an neuen Protokollen zur Dienstedifferenzierung durch In-Network Computing und programmierbare Netzwerke. Ich nutze Virtualisierungstechnologien wie Network Function Virtualization und Software-Defined Networking sowie Programmable Data Planes (z. B. mit P4).
