Uniwersytet Wrocławski (University of Wrocław)
University of Wrocław represents one of the largest and oldest universities in the Lower Silesia region. Founded in 1702 as a Jesuit college, the university currently has about 26,000 students and 1,300 doctoral students at ten faculties. The focus is on scientific research in the humanities and science.
The first university agreement between TU Dresden and Uniwersytet Wrocławski was established in 1997. Since 2014, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences has been expanding its strategic partnership with the University of Wrocław. The two universities also cooperate successfully in other disciplines, such as biochemistry and mathematics.
Politechnika Wrocławska (Wrocław University of Science and Technology)
Politechnika Wrocławska was founded in 1945 and is today one of the largest and best technical universities in Poland. At 13 faculties, Politechnika Wrocławska offers a sophisticated range of subjects in science and engineering. Politechnika Wrocławska is a national leader in innovations and patent applications. It also has established cooperation agreements with domestic and foreign companies and is itself one of the largest employers in Wrocław.
Particularly well established cooperations between TU Dresden and Politechnika Wrocławska exist in the field of Science, Engineering Sciences, and Civil
and Environmental Engineering. In addition to the regular exchange of visiting scientists and students, joint research projects have already been realized, such as the TRAILS project for Mobile Innovation Laboratories and Services deepening Innovation Capacity in the Saxon-Polish Border Region.
Uniwersytet Przyrodniczy we Wrocławiu (Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences)
Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences is one of the most specialized universities in Poland and was founded in 1951. Its five faculties focus on teaching and research in the field of agricultural and natural sciences as well as engineering and technical sciences. Since 2016, Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences has maintained a university cooperation with TU Dresden.
This cooperation has already resulted in several successful research projects. For example, the Institute of Landscape Architecture at TU Dresden is currently implementing a German-Polish model project on integrated cultural landscape development together with Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences. The university is also a strong research partner in food technology and is involved in the FERBLEND project, which deals with the prevention of production losses in food production.
Uniwersytet Ekonomiczny we Wrocławiu (Wrocław University of Economics)
Wrocław University of Economics is not only an important research center in the field of economics and management, it is also one of the best business schools in Poland. Its research and teaching activities are based at the three faculties of Business and Management, Economics and Finance, and Production Engineering, as well as at a branch in Jelenia Góra.
Since 2018, the TU Dresden has been cooperating with Wrocław University of Economics through its central scientific institution International Institute (IHI) Zittau within the framework of a two-degree program in the master's program in International Management.
Uniwersytet Medyczny im. Piastów (Wrocław Medical University)
Medical education has a long tradition in Wrocław. Already in the 13th century the first medical hospital was founded at a university. In 1745 the education of medical students began. The Medical University of Wrocław was founded in 1946 and today represents one of the most prestigious medical universities in Poland. More than 5,000 students are currently enroled in the departments of human medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and public health.
The Medical University of Wroclaw has been a strategic partner of the School of Medicine at TU Dresden since 2014. In addition to several research projects, both universities participated with different disciplines in the cross-border format of the Saxon-Polish Innovation Day 2018 on the topic of "Personalized Biomedicine and Medical Technology".
