Mission Statement
As a personnel development team, we pursue the conscious and long-term advancement and development of all employees at TU Dresden with the objective of empowering them to master their daily professional tasks confidently and equally preparing them for future job requirements. We also want to offer all employees an attractive, motivating and health-promoting working environment in which they can develop both personally and professionally in the best possible way. The following guiding principles serve as a valuable framework for our activities and opportunities:
- We believe in an internal culture that is characterised by openness, transparency, mutual respect and the ability to express criticism and confront conflict.
- Good communication and a comprehensive exchange of information are essential for us.
- We have high quality standards in our daily work and are careful with our use of resources.
- An inclusive approach actively promotes equal opportunities for men and women, employees with family responsibilities, people with disabilities and special aptitudes as well as employees from other countries.
- We harness the diversity of our life and work experiences, perspectives and values to create a unique opportunity for respectful cooperation and innovation.
- We vigorously oppose any form of discrimination. More specifically, we do not tolerate any form of sexual harassment, bullying, racism or violence.
- We use employee review meetings to regularly coordinate our activities and framework conditions.
- Our actions are self-reflective and we see mistakes as an opportunity for positive change or development of the individual as well as the entire team.
- Lifelong learning and the promotion of skills reinforce our responsibility for personal development.
We consider personnel development as a task that cannot be delegated to all managers – they are personnel developers on-site and bear a special responsibility. Success largely depends on the quality of their management and their function as role models. Professionally organised areas of responsibility as well as regular annual interviews as a basis for active personnel development create a trusting working environment. Managers should be able to both motivate and support employees in fulfilling their tasks. Their personal needs, in particular their health, should also be taken into account. Superiors play an active role in the career planning of their employees and promote their professional development opportunities.
