The habilitation graduation serves as a formal assessment of a special ability to perform scientific research and independent teaching in a certain subject or special field (teaching qualification). With the habilitation graduation, the authorisation to teach is awarded and the authority to use the suffix “habil.” in addition to the doctor’s degree is granted.
