Research topic
Investigation of the catalytic, direct conversion of methanol-ethanol mixtures to propene The aim of the scientific work is the direct conversion of methanol (C1) and ethanol (C2) to propene (C3) on porous, zeolitic materials. By adapting the catalyst material, the reaction of the short-chain alcohols should be more selective at lower temperatures than in conventional, industrial processes. This makes an ecological route for propene production accessible.
