Modul MA-CH-MRC 05 - Methoden in der anorganischen Koordinations- und Molekülchemie
Master-Studiengang Chemie und Lebensmittelchemie
Chemie/Master 1./3. FS
The course teaches on knowledge and methods for synthesis and complete characterization of inorganic coordination and inorganic molecular compounds. In the practical part, the students learn preparative methods, which are outside the general practical training (high vacuum and inert gas techniques for the synthesis of air-sensitive compounds, reactions in unusual solvents such as SO2). All stages of the preparations are accompanied by modern analytical methods (heteronuclear liquid NMR spectroscopy, Raman, ATR-IR, UV-Vis, elemental analysis, cyclic voltammetry, etc.), which are carried out under the guidance of students themselves.
The practical part of the course is accompanied by a lecture and specific seminars, which, building on the knowledge already imparted in the bachelor's program, highlights in-depth theoretical aspects of the characterization methods performed.
The student is able to present and discuss scientific results correctly (writing of a practical report) and is familiar with the targeted synthesis of challenging inorganic molecular compounds.
