Great joy at the Institute of Nuclear and Particle Physics: Of the 22 Lohrmann Medals awarded by TU Dresden to its best graduates, two went to the Institute of Nuclear and Particle Physics. Mareen Hoppe, M. Sc., was nominated for the award by the Faculty of Physics, Lisa Lehmann, M.Sc. by the Student Council. Both were completing their theses at the Chair of Particle Physics, which is currently held by Dr. Frank Siegert.
The medals were presented by the Rector of TU Dresden, Prof. Ursula Staudinger, and the Vice-Rector Academic Affairs, Prof. Michael Kobel, at a ceremony on December 6, 2024. In total, the 84 best graduates of the 2023/2024 academic year were honored. All degree program providers as well as the ZLSB and the Student Council can nominate a graduate for the TU Dresden Wilhelm Gotthelf Lohrmann Medal.
