Summary of Lecture: | This course deals with modern X-ray spectroscopy and its application in condensed matter and materials research. The following topics will be covered: Theoretical description of x-ray spectroscopies, X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS), Photoelectron spectroscopy (PES), Auger spectroscopy (AES), x-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XES), inelastic x-ray scattering (IXS, RIXS), resonant elastic x-ray scattering, atomic multiplet calculations. |
