SRIP Conference from September 16 to 18 - Exciting insights into the psychology of the transition to parenthood and early childhood development, parent-child relationships and resilience
The Society for Reproductive and Infant Psychology (SRIP) is holding its 44th annual international conference in Dresden from September 16 to 18. Organized by Prof. Anna-Lena Zietlow (Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology at the TUD Dresden University of Technology) and Prof. Susan Garthus-Niegel (Institute and Polyclinic for Occupational and Social Medicine), the international conference is dedicated to a wide range of research topics and various projects in the field of perinatal health.
Invitation to students
Students of Psychology, Sociology, Social Education, Social Work and Welfare Science, Social Sciences, School of Medicine, Midwifery and Health Sciences are cordially invited to attend the conference, as it offers a valuable opportunity to make international contacts, network and learn from leading experts in the field. Exciting keynotes from renowned international experts await: Prof. Dr. Prabha Chandra (India), Prof. Dr. Natalie Rosen (Canada) and Prof. Dr. Kathryn Humphreys (USA). A very special highlight of the conference are the pre-conference workshops, which will be offered on the first day of the conference (Monday, September 16, 2024) in cooperation with the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus in Dresden. These workshops offer in-depth insights into specific specialist areas and practical experiences:
1. development of parent-child bonding in premature and sick newborns: Organized by the Department of Neonatology and Pediatric Intensive Care Medicine at the Children's Hospital of the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus in Dresden. This workshop provides insights into the daily work processes of specialists and shows how the parent-child bond can be strengthened even in critical situations. The workshop includes both a presentation with a Q&A session and a tour of the neonatology ward.
2. interaction-centered psychotherapy for parental postpartum disorders: Conducted by the Mother-Child Day Clinic of the Department of Psychotherapy and Psychosomatic Medicine at the Carl Gustav Carus University Hospital in Dresden. Here, the clinic's multimodal treatment concept will be presented, which aims to strengthen the mother-child bond and treat maternal postpartum mental health problems. This workshop also includes a presentation and a guided tour of the mother and child day clinic.
