Abschlussarbeit (BA/ MA) / Forschungspraktikum: Eltern-Kind-Interaktionen im Kontext von mütterlicher Psychopathologie
to be awarded immediately
The Chair of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology has an immediate vacancy for a Master's / bachelor's thesis or research internship in the area of parent-child interaction in the context of maternal postpartum psychopathology.
It can be assumed that maternal psychopathology has an indirect or direct influence on the child's mental state. However, the exact ways in which maternal psychopathology is transmitted to the child are not yet known. There are also findings that suggest that it is not maternal psychopathology per se that leads to this increased risk, but the quality of the mother-child interaction. Consequently, research also discusses the mother-child interaction as a potential transmission pathway. Some studies have already shown differences in child behaviour, but also in maternal behaviour, depending on whether the mother had a mental illness or not.
In our research group, we not only look at mother-child interactions, but would like to gain a holistic view of the family climate by including the father-child interaction quality and the couple interaction quality.
The advertised work or internship involves independently learning a system to be able to quantify the quality of interactions in a family context.
