TUD|excite – TUD Excellence Center for Innovation, Transfer and Entrepreneurship – consolidates innovation and transfer management at TU Dresden. Patent management, guiding research-based innovations into application, strategic partnerships with industry, and support for spin-offs are closely interlinked. The aim: to put innovation into practice and develop the business ideas of the future.

The newly established TUD|excite Space in the Andreas Schubert Building offers a contemporary environment designed to foster interdisciplinary exchange and shape the start-up ideas of tomorrow. Supported by the Excellence Project, a distinctive New Work concept was also developed and implemented.

With the TUD|excite Innovation Hub, TU Dresden aims to increase the visibility of its transfer activities and offerings. To achieve this, TUD|excite works closely with key partners in its immediate vicinity, including SLUB— with its Makerspace, co-working and seminar rooms, podcast and green screen studios— the interdisciplinary research think tank “Wissensarchitektur” at TU Dresden, the DesignLab for Applied Research, TechnologieZentrumDresden GmbH, and ExciteLab GmbH.

In the recently established “Startup Campus Alliance,” TU Dresden is working with nine partner universities from Saxony and Thuringia to foster entrepreneurship and a sustainable start-up culture. As Germany’s leading university in patent activity, TU Dresden contributes its transfer structures and expertise to the new alliance through TUD|excite. Together, the partners aim to position Central Germany as a leading deep-tech region.

With the Startup Factory by boOst Startup Ecosystem gGmbH, TUD and its partners from the Startup Campus Alliance and industry aim to galvanize start-ups and strengthen their international competitiveness. In the fields of semiconductors, chip design, photonics and health tech, boOst is laying the foundations for the next generation of high-tech companies. The Startup Factory, TUD|excite, and the partnership with the semiconductor industry in Dresden, Taiwan and beyond offer the ideal platform.
