Before you start: Choose your course of study and get ready for your studies
Finding the right course of study is the first key to success at university. But how do you find out which course of study is right for you or whether you should study at all? And how can you best prepare yourself for your studies?
The following projects are there to help you as you start getting ready for university:

Do you need help with study orientation?
If you are wondering how your chosen program is structured and what the university expects of you, then take part in the mentoring program for pupils! A university student will give you straightforward and personal answers to all of your questions and offer you individual insight into student life plus a few insider tips.
We will match you with your own personal mentor (student), who will assist and advise you throughout the process of selecting a course of studies and will meet you digitaly in order to give you insight into your chosen program and the university setting.

Orientierungsstudium MINT (OSM)
Was soll ich studieren? Passt ein MINT-Studium zu mir? Will ich überhaupt studieren? Antworten auf diese Fragen soll das Orientierungsstudium MINT (OSM) der TU Dresden bieten.
Mit dem OSM hast du die Chance, in verschiedene MINT-Studiengänge (MINT steht für Mathematik, Informatik, Naturwissenschaften, Technik) reinzuschnuppern. Du kannst Vorlesungen besuchen, an Workshops und Exkursionen teilnehmen, Prüfungen mitschreiben, in die Mensa gehen und dabei das Studentenleben kennenlernen.
Im Wintersemester 2023/2024 startet der erste Durchlauf!

Online Self-Assessments
You want to find out if you the degree programme electrical engineering or mechatronics is suitable for you?
With our online self-assessments, you can find out whether your individual skills, interests and expectations match the requirements and acutal content of the courses. Through smaller, specialist tasks, you will gain an initial insight into parts of the degree programme. We identify any requirements that you have not yet fulfilled and offer you suitable further training and counselling sessions.

Online preparatory courses
You want to refresh your maths, physics or informatics knowledge? Then you’ve come to the right place!
In our online preparatory courses, you can familiarise yourself with the most important information for your studies at TU Dresden, available in an interactive and compactly summarised format. This allows you to optimally prepare yourself at any time, from anywhere and at your individual learning pace. The courses are aimed at pupils from grade 11 onwards and at first-year students. Access is of course free of charge.

Getting started: Well-equipped through your first semesters
The first semesters often seem particularly challenging. You have to cope with theory-laden lectures and seminars, read academic literature, meet many new people and find your way around the campus.
The following projects will help you getting started and successfully mastering the challenges of the first semesters:
PASST?! - How is it going?
TU Dresden's Early-Warning System PASST?! accompanies you right from the beginning, covering your entire studies. Once signed up, it steadily checks your course of studies and informs you about possible difficulties. This way PASST?! helps you to keep track of things and to find suitable advice and support if problems occur. It helps you to:
- prepare for exams effectively,
- develop convenient strategies for organizing your studies or
- deal with any doubts about your studies.

Do you want to start your teacher training successfully? MTC@TUD supports you.
From the first semester on, qualified tutors are at your side as contact persons. In the tutorials on scientific work skills, exam preparation and career aspirations, they pass on their knowledge and tips so that you can get off to a good start in your studies.
