Eyewitness Accounts
How did things study in the GDR, how (un)free were teaching and studying, and were there reprisals from which unadapted students had to suffer? Two TUD graduates born in 1940 interviewed more than 80 contemporary witnesses. In August of this year, the reports were published as a book under the title "Between Humor and Repression".
"Personal and thus subjective experience reports on the period of study in the GDR should contribute to making this time tangible, especially for the younger generations", Dr. Rainer Jork, one of the initiators, explains the background.
The book has the ISBN 978-3-95462-897-1, was published by Mitteldeutscher Verlag and costs 19,95 Euro.
It is available for viewing at the TUD Information Office, Mommsenstr. 9, 01069 Dresden.
