Schoolchildren interested in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) can spend a week during the summer vacation getting to know student life at TU Dresden (TUD). Registration for the summer university is now open.
During the summer university, prospective students will gain insights into institutes, research facilities, and laboratories and will have the opportunity to get involved themselves. In meetings with researchers, they will learn more about current research and the STEM degree programs offered at TUD. Visits to companies will also give schoolchildren insights into different professional fields.
In addition, the they will have the opportunity to talk to students and learn more about financing their studies, student housing, and libraries. Evening events also give participants the opportunity to exchange ideas and discover what Dresden has to offer.
“The summer university offers students a great opportunity to get a taste of STEM subjects and try them out for themselves,” says Antonia Zacharias-Weihs, Head of the Summer University. “Our participants gain an overview of relevant degree programs and career prospects. Participants can also reflect on their own ideas and expectations regarding their choice of degree program, helping them to make a better-informed decision.”
In 2026, the Summer University will host its 29th session, organized by the Central Student Information and Counseling Service. Since 1998, more than 3,000 prospective students from Germany and abroad have participated in the Summer University.
The participation fee is EUR 75.00, and registration is now open. Registration takes place online and is open until June 22, 2026.
