The 4 blocks of the OSM
Block A: Study Orientation
Aims:
- support in choosing a field of study
- getting to know university structures, working techniques and subject cultures
Number of CP (credit points): 10 compulsory per semester
Block B: Qualification
Aims:
- closing knowledge gaps
- introduction to academic work
Number of CP: 4 compulsory per semester
Block C: Key Competencies / Career Exploration
Aims:
- acquisition of key competencies
- insights into professional practice
- improvement of English or German language skills
Number of CP: 8 compulsory per semester
Block D: Project Work/Practical Training
Aim:
- application of the knowledge and competencies from blocks A, B and C
Number of CP: 3 compulsory per semester

Please note: Since the study regulations for the OSM have not yet been decided, there may still be changes to the structure and content of the Orientation Program.
In addition to its study programs, the TU Dresden also offers a diverse range of cultural and leisure activities: university sports, artistic groups such as the university orchestra or "die bühne", the "Kino im Kasten" and a wide variety of student initiatives.
